Beekeeping Experience 2026

If you’re a group of 6 or more then get in touch as we can create a private session just for you!

“I just wanted to say thank you again for a very special day. It exceeded all expectations! Truly an experience to remember”

2026 DATES are now available

Saturday 9th May 10am

Saturday 13th June 10am

Saturday 11th July 10am

Saturday 11th July 1pm

Saturday 8th August 10am

Whether you just love bees and want to know more or you’re thinking about becoming a beekeeper and are looking for an introduction to keeping bees as a hobby, the Kin Beekeeping Experience is a great place to start.

Come and visit one of our apiaries with beekeeper Gael who’s passionate about the subject and will introduce you to the amazing world of the honeybee. From setting up a hive to the bee lifecycle Gael will talk you through the ins and outs and ups and downs of bees. You’ll have the chance to get hands on inside a hive and take part in a full colony inspection (good luck spotting the Queen Bee!) all under her careful guidance. Just remember - the only wrong beekeeping question is the one you didn’t ask!

A fantastic experience for you or a perfect gift for outdoorsy people! 2hr session

Price is per person (over 12 years old) and I’ve purposely kept the numbers small (max 8 adults per session) so that we have the time for a real hands-on experience. Please be aware that hive inspections are totally weather-dependent (bees can perish in the rain so we can’t open hives if it’s too wet or windy) so dates are subject to change but I will endeavour to fit everyone on at a suitable date. Dates are subject to change but will be finalised by 1st December.

You will receive a voucher and a packet of Scottish Wildflower Seeds so you can help support pollinators in your own area. You will also receive a private booking link so you can reserve your space/s on your chosen date (dates released 1st October) , and additional information regarding clothing and safety - we provide a bee suit and protective gloves and recommend you wear wellies and long sleeve/leg clothing under your suit and tie long hair back.

A Disclaimer form will also be included to you which must be read, signed and brought with you to your session. You can find a copy here.

Please note that we have reduced the number of sessions this year and expect them to book up fast. If you are lucky enough to receive a voucher as a gift please follow the instructions and book a place on your chosen date quickly to avoid disappointment.

Cancellations and No Shows: Should you be unable to attend your experience or wish to change the date please let us know at least 48 hours before the event and we will endeavour to fit you into another session. Within 48 hrs we will do our best to accommodate you but we cannot guarantee a place. Unfortunately no shows cannot be rescheduled after the event date.

Vouchers are non refundable.

Happy Beekeeping 🐝

Are you a large group who’d all like to come together? Please get in touch as we’ll do our very best to accommodate you on a suitable date!

If you’re a group of 6 or more we can create a bespoke experience just for you. Drop us an email with your requirements!

Our 2025 Honey buzzed out the bee shed as fast as we could jar it and we are now SOLD OUT.

If you’d like to bee first in the know for our next batch please add your email to our mailing list.

Local Raw Honey
from £10.00

Bees first. We always wait until the bees have capped the frames and have plenty in reserve before we remove any honey - their well-being is our first concern. Once it’s uncapped (removing the little wax cover the bees put on each cell to keep it fresh) it’s spun by hand, passed through a sieve and right into the jar.

Raw, unheated and completely natural … did we mention delicious?

Blossom - light and flavourful with a classic fruity tang the current batch is from our Cairneyhill apiary

Wildflower - diverse and complex with a round real honey flavour that stays on the tongue

Clover - our very special small batch for 2025 thanks to the pesticide free wildflower planting at Urquhart Farms. Mild and sweet, clover honey has a slight tang of freshly cut hay with a fruity almost pear aftertaste

Chunk - a treat of honeycomb in the jar!

Yes! You can safely eat the wax - it’s believed to lower cholesterol and help prevent stomach ulcers. What’s the dark bits? Pollen! Collected by the worker bees - a wee freebee perk!

What kind of honey is it? The last batch of 2025 is from our only apiary where the bees can forage on Scottish heather creating a unique natural blend  of late summer wild field flower and heather honey
